Nanno aka Kirk Bananno and Corey Drumz have recorded many tracks together as members of the group IKE. Usually known for their hard street edged style and rugged flows, Nanno and Drumz often switched it up showing a more commercially versatile side to their music. “On Mine” is one of their more adult styled bangers guaranteed to grab new listeners who aren’t necessarily fans of the more traditional street styled hip-hop and would rather a more soul/r&b angle.
With Nanno taking the lead role on the verses and Drumz supplying the soulfully melodic hook, the two deliver a grown and sexy style reminiscent to many of the classic soul/r&b records recorded by the male groups of the 70’s and 80’s. “On Mine” could easily be played in regular rotation on any urban adult radio station and gain the appreciation of listeners outside of the hard gritty street hip-hop fan base normally associated with IKE and hip-hop in general. This is the kind of track the late DJ Frankie Crocker would play and your mother & grandmother would turn up and dance around the living room to, as well as younger listeners.
Listen to “On Mine” by Nanno feat. Corey Drumz below and I guarantee you won’t be able to stop singing it yourself and wondering why this record isn’t being played on your favorite radio station.
