Ok I’m tired of these ignorant fucks making these videos denouncing Colin Kapernick for not standing for the Star Spangled Banner talking about he’s “unpatriotic” and offending the troops and the country. You know whats offensive? The fact that they even used that racist ass poem as the national anthem and expect black people or any person of color to respect it and pay homage to it.
The Star Spangled Banner is a poem that celebrates the death of slaves that escaped from their American slave masters and fought on the side of England in the war of 1812 in order to gain their freedom from a country that supposedly stands for freedom, justice, an equal chance for prosperity and the persuit of happiness for all but that ALL did not and still does not include people of color. Yes this country has a bad history that many would rather deny and not acknowledge and it continues every time one of you ignorant muthafuckas try to overlook the facts in the name of your so called patriotism. The only people offended by Kapernick taking a seat are the people who have benefitted from the injustices imposed on people of color since the inception of this country. Fuck your national anthem because it was written to celebrate the death of my people who only wanted the same freedoms, rights, equal & fair opportunities granted to WHITE people, but according to y’all we’re wrong for wanting and demanding those rights and privileges that we deserve just as much as you ignorant muthafuckas!!!
Bet you also didn’t know or if you do you won’t admit that not only was the Star Spangle Banner written with racial overtones and for a racist agenda, but the pledge of allegiance wasn’t written to be a pledge to the nation either. It was infact written as a commercial to sell flags.
Yall muthafuckas kill me with your denial of the facts to appease your own agendas. America has only been great for white people. For everybody else it has been a painful hell that yall feel we’re just supposed to accept and say nothing about demanding change. Next yall will probably tell the Indians that they’re supposed to pay tribute to the flag, national anthem and pledge or they should leave this country too even tho all of these lands were stolen from them in the first place and then they were told where they could and couldn’t live. Yall muthafuckas are a trip.
For those who refuse to face and admit the truth, read the full “Star Spangled Banner” written by slave owner and avid anti-abolishonist Francis Scott Key below.
“O say can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hail’d at the twilight’s last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight
O’er the ramparts we watch’d were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there,
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep
Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream,
’Tis the star-spangled banner—O long may it wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore,
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion
A home and a Country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash’d out their foul footstep’s pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand
Between their lov’d home and the war’s desolation!
Blest with vict’ry and peace may the heav’n rescued land
Praise the power that hath made and preserv’d us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto – “In God is our trust,”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave”
Now tell me when America was great for everybody besides y’all and from now on, before you ignorantly claim someone is being unpatriotic for taking a stand (in this case a seat) against current and decades, even centuries of social and racial injustices imposed on people of color right here in the America you so patrioticly defend, do your research and recognize that people of color, whether black, red, brown, yellow or any color other than white, have lived and been subjugated by a whole other form of the America Dream that you and your ancestors have benefitted from by standing on the backs, bathing in the blood and sweat of those who have built, fought and died for this country but have been continuously treated unequally and unjustly never receiving their fair portion of the pie that you’re so priveleged to take for granted and hold in such high esteem.
Yes, we love this country but we do not love what this country has done to and continues to do to us and we as a people, including white people, should not stand for it any longer. If we are all Americans we should all be treated equally as Americans instead of one group having access to the full American dream while the rest of us are left to feed off of its scraps and expected to just accept it.
